Dwayne Jarrett violated NCAA “extra benefits” rules

By living in a apartment with Matt Leinart last season and not paying half of the rent, USC receiver Dwayne Jarrett violated NCAA rules, but he should be eligible to play this fall.
The NCAA determined that Jarrett violated the “extra benefits” rule and will have to apply for reinstatement, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday.
The Spin: Nobody seems to think Jarrett won’t be on the field this fall, which only goes to show what a joke the “extra benefits” rule is.
