Steve Yzerman to announce retirement

The Dirt:

Today could be the day we find out about the future of Steve Yzerman.

And according to a report on TSN of Canada, he’s expected to retire.

The Detroit Red Wings said they will make a “major announcement” today at a 1 p.m. ET news conference. The team would not comment on the subject matter of the announcement.

But TSN reported that Yzerman has told some of his close friends that he will announce his retirement.

The Spin: 23 years, 15 playoff appearances, and 3 Stanley Cups. Congrats to Yzerman on a fantastic career.
