Steve Foley won’t make any money this year

The San Diego Chargers have placed linebacker Steve Foley on the non-football injured reserve list following an incident Sunday where he was shot 3 times after confronting a police officer, meaning he won’t get any of his $1.65 million in salary this year, which consists of $775,000 in base salary and $875,000 in roster bonuses.
$1.65 million is a lot of money; it works out to $550,000 for each of the three bullets Foley took. It’s really a lot when you are expecting it and find out you aren’t getting it. If I’m Chargers GM A.J. Smith, who made the decision to put Foley on IR and effectively deny him any income this season, I’m pooping my pants right now. The guy took three bullets going after a cop just because he was going to get pulled over.
He probably isn’t going to take this well.
