Kevan Barlow says Mike Nolan is Hitler

Kevan Barlow is not happy. After he claims he was told by 49ers coach Mike Nolan that he wasn’t going to be traded, Barlow was shipped off to the New York Jets. Here’s what he had to say in today’s Contra Costa Times:
“He walks around with a chip on his shoulder, like he’s a dictator, like he’s Hitler. People are scared of him. If it ain’t Nolan’s way, it’s the highway.”
“It was dirty. He had no respect for me or the organization. He doesn’t know about the 49ers way, and that’s too bad because even his dad (Dick) was coach of the 49ers. Bill Walsh set the standard there, and he ain’t living up to it.”
Jets coach Eric Mangini didn’t think it was cool…
“I thought his comments were inappropriate. After he said it, he wished he could have those words back. But he can’t. Kevan has already called coach Nolan to talk to him about that, which I think is important.”
And Barlow has since toned things down…
“I was kind of harsh on him, saying he’s a dictator. That’s bad. Saddam Hussein is a dictator. I was speaking on emotion.”
We’re not sure if Mike Nolan is Hitler, but the way these guys play…put it this way - if we were coaching the 49ers we’d probably want to swallow cyanide capsules and shoot ourselves.
