Drew Brees sacks mom’s political ad
The agent for Saints QB Drew Brees has sent a letter to Drew’s estranged mom Mina demanding she remove references to him from a political ad she’s running in Texas, where she is running for Third Court of Appeals. From the ad:
“I’m a football fan, and I have to be. Marty Akins is my brother, and Drew Brees is my son. But there’s one difference between him and me - I want to sit on the bench.”
It’s probably not a good idea to feature people who can’t stand you in ads you’re running for political office, but at least she didn’t highlight a penchant for getting tackled by sweaty 300-pound men then taking showers with them afterward. That’s not exactly becoming behavior for someone holding public office.
