Donovan McNabb’s surgery is delayed

The best-case scenario already has eluded Donovan McNabb and the Philadelphia Eagles.
The quarterback’s injured right knee cannot be operated on this week, creating the likelihood of a two- to three-week wait.
‘’Not yet; he’s on his way back to Philly for now,'’ an Eagles official said Tuesday when asked for update on McNabb’s impending surgery in Alabama. ‘’Too much swelling.'’
Eagles officials had hoped the swelling in McNabb’s knee was down so Dr. James Andrews would be able to operate on it early this week in Alabama perhaps as early as Tuesday.
