Clinton Portis won’t play again this year

Three league sources have revealed that it is “imminent” that Clinton Portis will undergo surgery on his injured shoulder, placing him on injured reserve. The team was reportedly considering sitting him for the rest of the year to heal the hand he broke last Sunday against the Eagles and decided to repair the shoulder as well.
The Redskins are 3-6, their best offensive player is lost for the season, and their new starting QB has never even been active for an NFL game. We can think of a few more things that are “imminent” for the ‘Skins, like when their golf season starts.
