Adrian McPherson injured by Titans mascot T-Rac
New Orleans quarterback Adrian McPherson went to the locker room early in the third quarter after a golf cart ridden by the Titans’ mascot hit him at the end of halftime Saturday night.
The mascot was riding on a golf cart and throwing items into the stands during halftime, and was heading off the field when the Saints were returning from their locker room for the third quarter.
The cart hit McPherson, who stayed on the field for a few minutes being checked out by a trainer on the sideline. He then walked off the field.
This is a unique story that, no matter how much we at The Sports Dirt try to look at it objectively, smells fishy. Here we have a mascot - clumsy, stupid, and oafish and known to go to extremes when the situation calls for it - and one of the shadiest athletes since Shoeless Joe Jackson in Adrian McPherson - a guy kicked out of the NCAA because it was rumored that he threw a game to pay off a gambling debt. The whole thing reeks of an insurance scam.
