Mario Manningham might get knee surgery

Michigan WR Mario Manningham injured his knee in Saturday’s 31-13 victory over Michigan State, and may miss next week’s game at Penn State. Wolverines coach Lloyd Carr refused to comment on the report, and Manningham’s status is officially unknown. Today the Detroit News is reporting Manningham will have arthroscopic surgery this morning to repair a partial torn meniscus and a possible partial tear of a medial collateral ligament and will miss several weeks.
Losing Manningham would definitely create a hole in the Michigan offense, but the way he’s been playing they could stick him out there in a wheelchair and he’d still catch 3 touchdown passes.
