Rasheed Wallace taking new technical foul rule personally

Giving them a dress code wasn’t enough. Neither was giving them a new crappy ball. Now the NBA is announcing stricter guidelines on assessing techincal fouls. Commish David Stern said of the new guidelines:

“The thought process is we have the best athletes in the world, playing a spectacular game as well as it has ever been played. In my view it detracts from it, when a small handful of players spend their time negotiating and slowing the game down, at least in the perception of the fans, by engaging in an enterprise which is not productive.”

But reigning technical foul king Rasheed Wallace doesn’t see it that way…

“It’s just another ‘Sheed Wallace rule. It just means I must be doing something right. Any time they change the rules of the game for one specific player, you must be doing something right.”

We always thought that getting a technical meant you were doing something wrong. Between this, the new ball, and the new dress code, it seems like David Stern is intent on making NBA players miserable. We’re expecting a new rule announcement next week that teams will be required to arrive at the stadium in a single clown car.
