No talk of extension for Carlisle
The Dirt: The Indianapolis Star reports that during Pacers coach Rick Carlisle’s end-of-season review, a contract extension was not brought up.
The Spin: Carlisle enters a critical final year of his contract. The Pacers underachieved in a major way last season, and team president Larry Bird has said that Carlisle may have lost the team due to lack of dicipline for on-court behaviorial problems. Team CEO Donnie Walsh insists that an extension will be discussed at a later date…but that date may be dependent on how the Pacers start off next season. Nothing abnormal about not getting an extension at this point, but to not even have it brought up?
