Larry Brown leaves pre-draft camp without speaking to Thomas
The Dirt:
After 2 1/2 days without speaking to team president Isiah Thomas, Knicks coach Larry Brown finally got up and left the Orlando, Fla., pre-draft camp a day early yesterday afternoon, departing without getting a permission slip from his mother or his bosses.
It’s hard to get permission to leave without talking to your boss, thus making fanciful the notion that Brown will return to coach the Knicks next season almost inconceivable.
The Spin: In fairness, Brown’s agent claims Brown left when he was scheduled to leave, but the article is filled with examples of both parties avoiding questions about the other. Rumor has it that Mariah Carey called Brown and wants her diva crown back.
