Knicks say no to 76ers on Chris Webber

Sports Illustrated is reporting that the 76ers approached Isiah Thomas and the Knicks to solicit an offer for Chris Webber, to which New York responded with an uncharacteristic “no.”
Excuse us while we catch our breath.
Webber gave Philly 20 points per game and nearly 10 rebounds - and the Knicks would rather give $30 million each to Jared Jefferies and Jerome James (we still haven’t totally absorbed that one yet)? And they aren’t interested in Webber? Is this team run by masochists?
Too bad for Webber - in Knicks money he’s a $300 million player.
