Knicks may buy out Larry Brown - Isiah Thomas to coach?
The Dirt: Reports have begun to circulate the the New York Knicks are considering buying out the remainder of head coach Larry Brown’s contract - a cost of approximately $40 million - and moving Isiah Thomas to the head coaching position. The Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings are reportedly interested in Brown.
The Spin: New York is not the kind of city with the patience to wait through Brown’s 5-year plan - if it would even work. And management can’t be too happy that they paid the guy over $40 million to lose 10 more games they did last year. As for Sacramento and Golden State - they would be lucky to get 2 years out of Brown before he either split or forced his team to let him go, just like he did in Detroit and, apparently, New York. Seeing as how neither team is within 2 years of a Finals appearance, why would they bother with him?
