Knicks, Larry Brown reach contract settlement

In a surprise development, one week before King Solomon commissioner David Stern was to rule on their arbitration, the New York Knicks and former head coach Larry Brown agreed on a settlement over their contract dispute. Brown left was fired left was fired one year into a 5 year, $50 million deal after guiding the team to a 23-59 record, the worst in team history. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
That Brown received anything is a victory for the little guy - the guy who lies his way into a job, does the worst possible job he can, clashes with his superiors and subordinates, and leaves the company in near-ruin - all while laughing in his Hampton home lighting cigars with burning $100 bills.
