Kareem Abdul-Jabbar confused how garbage pickup works
Karem Abdul-Jabbar is confused. Most people take their garbage to the curb each week for the garbageman to pick up, but not Kareem. He dumps it in his neighbors’ yards.
While moving in to a new home in Harlem, Kareem dumped several boxes and other junk in the front yard of the boarded-up house next to his. Among the trash: size 17 shoes, a Lakers ID card, tickets for last year’s NCAA championship, a blowgun, and a box for a kendo sword.
Neighbors pitched together to clean up the mess, but a few were hopping mad…
“In my opinion, this is not how you come into a neighborhood. When you have that kind of money that shouldn’t happen.”
“I don’t think this is a nice way to arrive in the neighborhood. What if this had burned last night?”
The obvious question is why Kareem Abdul-Jabbar would dump garbage that was pretty obviously his right in his neighbor’s yard. Was he sending a message? Or was he just stumbling around in a pot-induced daze with no idea what he was doing?
