Jose Canseco scheduled to make 1st start - as a pitcher
In a stunt that could only be pulled off by a minor league team - or Bill Veeck - Jose Canseco will be making his first ever start as a pitcher for the Long Beach Armada of the Golden Baseball League.
If the minor league teams keep going with gimmicks like this, they are going to lose a lot of the legitimacy they’ve built up with promotions such as Ted Williams Popsicle Night and Tonya Harding Mini Bat Night.
