Joe Torre to be fired? Replaced with Lou Pinella?
Rumors are circulating that Yankees manager Joe Torre will be fired after the team’s ALDS loss to the Detroit Tigers, with George Steinbrenner calling the loss a “sad failure”.
The rumored replacement? Former Yankee manager Lou Pinella. So Torre shouldn’t be too down. Think of it as a vacation of sorts. As soon as Pinella is re-fired in 4 years or so, Torre can retake the job. Call it the Billy Martin Managerial Method.
