Dusty Baker won’t return to Cubs next year
The Chicago Cubs have announced that they will not be bringing back Dusty Baker, likely to his relief.
We’re not exactly expecting this to lift the black cloud that has hung over this organization lo these many years, and it seems that until they figure out how to either clone Frank Chance or bring him back as a zombie, it doesn’t really matter who is in the dugout.
In other words, you can’t blame Dusty Baker for Kerry Wood’s elbow falling off, or Derrick Lee’s wrist, or Mark Prior’s tendinitis. You can, however, blame Steve Bartman.
